Gina Landry decided to take on a solo rescue mission and the person she was rescuing wasn’t at all what she’d expected. She’d been trained for hand-to-hand combat and how to use any weapon known to man. However, She’d never been attracted to anyone and she wasn’t looking for love but definitely open to the possibility. Although it wasn’t going to be easy to capture the man that she was set out to snag. And when he insulted her because of the color of her skin she thought all hope was lost.
Cobbe Fabrizio had vowed to never ever fall in love and relationships were out of the question. He’d yet to meet a woman that could move him to the point that he’d rethink his vow until he was kidnapped and his rescuer kicked the door in. He couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw the badass warrior goddess standing in the doorway. But then his fear of commitment caused him to say something that he shouldn’t have.
Would fate give him a second chance to make things right or would his fear get the better of him and cause him to lose this chance at love.

First let me start by saying, I know books are fiction, a fantasy to take us away from the hefty responsibilities of being an adult but this book was too far out for me.... One, Gina the female lead is not believable, she is supposed to be some bad a$$ agent but when the male lead Cobbe tells her nothing is going to happen because he is not attracted to women of color and she kisses him? Come on! Why would you even grace someone with your presence after they spout something ignorant like that? Then all the sisters are with all the brothers/cousins and Gina and Cobbe are supposed to be next? Cobbe gives a sorry a$$ excuse of not wanting Gina to fall for him after she rescued him (and he is supposed to be a super agent also but gets kidnapped) so he made the remark about her skin color because he does not want a serious relationship because of his awful mother. Then the secondary plot with Gina's grandfather being kidnapped - again - hard to believe, why was he kidnapped and why did the kidnappers specifically indicate Gina and Cobbe have to be the ones to come for negotiating talks. No reason given... Again, I know this is fiction but I like my fiction to have a believable story I can get into and this book had none.Product details

The grammatical errors and lack of punctuation made this a very hard read. Fix that and the flow would have still been a bit choppy.
I'm glad to see how the author can continue to tie these two families together. It was a nice read. Those Landry sisters are some tough chicks. Check it out.
Each book is full of. Romance, suspense, mystery, humor and family values. Strong females match with even stronger men! Waiting for the next book... I enjoy reading all of Shelli Quinn's books!
I am the writer of this book. I corrected the grammar, i added words where there were none, some sentences didn't make sense. I paid for this book. I read the exert from this book that is the reason I paid for it, I want my money back. Dumb a... book.
As always Shelli Quinn you have outdone yourself! It is a very good book! I recommend it to all my fellow romance readers ! You will enjoy it. I could not put it down and it ties in with the other books in the series.
Where to begin...This book sounded so promising. Big, bad alpha rescued by a smart, kick a¡¡%%* * woman. What we get is a juvenile writing full of so many bad cliches that I made a chapter a drinking game. It was as the author plucked whole lines out of a wise-cracking thesaurus.
The author tells the reader everything. "... The man pulled out a huge knife." Then both characters say it!!!!! I never want to totally hate someone"s effort but if I could get my $ back for this book I would.
This was a beautiful story about two emotionally damage people. Gina and Cobbe were made for each other. They had some of the same baggage. They were never given love so they didn't know how to express it. I was happy to visit with the rest of the Landry women and their awesome husband's. I really enjoyed this book and I will recommend it to everyone who want a real and honest book to read. Thank you so much Shelli Quinn! I'm waiting for the next one.
